Back in January, we announced that the game would be ending in six months, and promised to make these last six months a memorable ride. As you know, June marks the beginning of the sixth month since the announcement. It also is the start of our endgame – something that every plot for the last year has been slowly building toward. As such, we hope you enjoy it. However, because of the ambiguity of our timetable, I would like to re-state this as simply as possible:
The game is over in July.
We do not have a more specific date than “in July,” though we would imagine it will be closer to the beginning of the month than the end. The last plot arc is meant to run for roughly a month, and it might go over, but it should not take longer than six weeks.
As stated before, after the plot itself ends, All My SEES and We SEES You will be closed and a musebox specifically for playing the cast will be opened, for the players and anyone else that they invite. The other communities, including Orobas and AUSEES, will remain as unchanged as they were previously.
As for the last plot – while we do not wish to spoil the surprise, there are a few major details I wanted to explain that differentiate this plot from some of the others:
The end of the wish plot (regardless of if all the wishes are broken or not) marks a point of no return, ala most RPGs. While we do not want to give away particulars, beyond the start of the new plot, characters will be unable to exit Raitou for whatever reason. Newly apped characters will either need to have been on the island all along, or will require work with the moderators as to how they have arrived. So, for some reason if you've been sitting on a character from somewhere else, now is the time to go ahead and app them.
Unlike previous plotlines, where one mode dominated the other, this last story will have both moderator-run and player-run antagonists in it. We recommend that when the reveal is made, you consider whom your characters will ally with.
There's a multitude of ways for this to end. Over the last year, the plots have become less reliant on moderators pushing the game along, something that we here on the mod team think is the largest part of our success in keeping the game fresh and interesting. As such, for this last plot, we are setting up antagonists, both blatant and obvious, and letting the players have their complete run of how to handle – or not handle – threats. The sort of world that'll be left when the plot ends will be entirely in the players hands.
Other than that, the boss fight that will mark the end of the wish plot will be coming up this weekend, and an experience post will go up. In addition to experience being handed out, we'd like to note that, considering the game is ending after this – if you have any character-specific scenes that would need moderator help to get done, even something as simple as “it would be really cool if my character had a chance to show off like this” let us know now, so we can try to work them into the plot. If you have any ascensions you would like to work out, or characters who you you would like to see app'd in, or something else that can be done to generally improve how this game ends – notify both mods and players now so we can organize this.
This is the end of our game. We want to make it the best possible experience for everyone involved.
Any questions can be directed to the modteam either in comments here or via IRC or AIM, we will be glad to help assuage any worries or clarify any points.
